Crypto donations and the appeal of Make-A-Wish International to the community

Make-A-Wish International is launching its appeal to the crypto community, inviting them to donate to charity with cryptocurrency donations.

According to its announcement, the charity organization wants to stir the spirits of investors and cryptocurrency holders for its mission, right now that the crypto rally is underway.

In practice, Make-A-Wish International wants to brighten the holiday season for children who have been diagnosed with a serious illness, by granting their wishes.

The combination of crypto donation with the charitable mission ensures that the prosperity of the cryptocurrency sector can go beyond the mere meaning of financial gain.

In this regard, Luciano Manzo, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish International, commented on the interpretation of crypto donations:

“Supporting charitable initiatives with cryptocurrencies sends the message that cryptocurrencies have a purpose beyond financial gains: they can change lives and create a significant social impact. Critical illness steals childhood from a child but, by helping to fulfill wishes, this unique group of donors has the power to restore childhood and build resilience in these children”

Make-A-Wish International is convinced that “granting wishes” can bring benefits to the children who express them, including the improvement of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It is no coincidence that 98% of children and parents interviewed agree that the wish experience is important for every child with a critical illness.

Crypto donation: the past and present successes of Make-A-Wish International

The announcement by Make-A-Wish International to open up to receiving donations in crypto is not new. In fact, it seems that the charitable organization started to accept donations in cryptocurrency three years ago through The Giving Block.

In fact, crypto donations made in the past have helped launch wish collection programs in new countries like Indonesia and Ecuador. Here, now, children suffering from critical illnesses such as cancer and neurological disorders can now hope to fulfill their wishes.

Here, the organization returns to where it felt comfortable and invites crypto investors who have made their profits thanks to the recent crypto bull rally to make their donation.

A few hours ago, Make-A-Wish International highlighted on X that it received a donation in Ethereum (ETH).

Excited to share our first #ETH donation of our holiday #cryptocurrency campaign! Thank you to our donor who gave through @TheGivingBlock last night! Growth of Cryptocurrency Philanthropy: The Giving Block Report

Last March 2024, there was talk of the 2024 annual report by The Giving Block on crypto charity, also known as crypto-philanthropy.

At that moment, it was estimated that there was already an increase in enthusiasm from nonprofit organizations, all thanks to the growing base of crypto users who have become donors.

In fact, The Giving Block had already identified 580 million crypto users worldwide and, based on other authoritative sources, crypto donations for charitable causes have exceeded 2 billion dollars.
